If Jill's Story Felt Familiar, You're Not Alone
You may have seen yourself in Jill's experience.
Many project professionals coordinate teams, manage timelines, and solve problems every day.
Projects move forward because of their effort.
Deadlines are met.
Stakeholders stay informed.
Teams stay aligned.
Yet when strategic decisions are made, their voice is often missing.
And when leadership opportunities appear, someone else is chosen.
This leaves many capable professionals asking:
"Why doesn't strong execution lead to greater influence?"
The Challenge Most Project Professionals Aren't Taught to See
Most project professionals are trained in the technical side of project management.
They learn methodologies, tools, schedules, and reporting structures.
These skills matter.
But they are only part of the equation.
Professionals who gain influence develop the ability to shape conversations, align stakeholders, and guide decisions.
These capabilities are known as power skills.

Meet Brittany Wilkins

Brittany Wilkins, PMP is a project leader and strategist focused on helping professionals navigate complex project environments and strengthen the leadership capabilities that influence project outcomes.
Her professional experience spans multiple industries, including automotive, industrial coatings, aerospace, and the built environment, where she has worked within organizations responsible for delivering complex initiatives and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Early in her career, Brittany discovered something many project professionals eventually encounter: strong execution alone does not always translate into greater influence. Naturally introverted and committed to advancing her career, she began intentionally developing the leadership capabilities that shape how projects move forward — communication, strategic thinking, collaboration, and emotional intelligence.
These capabilities, often called power skills, became central to how she approached project leadership.
Today, Brittany shares these insights with professionals seeking to move beyond task execution and strengthen their influence in project environments.
She is also the host of the Project Management Masterclass Podcast, where she explores real-world project leadership challenges and practical perspectives on navigating complex initiatives.
Beyond project leadership, Brittany's work extends into mentorship and advocacy for the next generation of engineers. She is the author of Letters to My Sisters in Engineering, a book created to encourage and support aspiring engineers as they pursue careers in technical fields.
Through her work, Brittany continues to focus on a simple idea:
Technical expertise builds projects.
Leadership capabilities shape outcomes.
